Fair Housing
Equal opportunity is not a policy at the edge of how we operate. It is how we operate.

Equal opportunity
The Rissas Companies is an equal opportunity housing provider. We comply with the federal Fair Housing Act and California fair housing law in every part of our leasing and management.
Protected classes
We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, ancestry, familial status, marital status, disability, age, genetic information, or source of income.
Source of income
Under California law, source of income — including Housing Choice (Section 8) Vouchers and other rental assistance — is a protected class.
We welcome voucher holders. When residences are available, listings may also be shared through select third-party housing platforms.
How we apply our criteria
Every applicant is evaluated under the same written criteria, applied the same way, in the order applications are received.
Reasonable accommodations and modifications for residents and applicants with disabilities are available on request.
Reporting a concern
If you believe you have experienced housing discrimination, you may contact us at contact@rissas.com. You may also contact the California Civil Rights Department or the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
This page is a working draft prepared for the website and is pending review by counsel. It is not yet a final statement of policy.
